TEHRAN-The Iranian short film \u201cTwenty-One Weeks Later\u201d written and directed by Nasrin Mohammadpour has received an award at the 11th La Mirada Tab\u00fa Film Festival, which was held in Zaragoza, Spain.<\/p>\n
A total of 55 short films competed in the official competition section of the festival that took place from December 5 to 14. At the closing ceremony, the Iranian flick was presented the Mention Special Jury Award.<\/p>\n
The 14-minute film, a 2023 production, is about a young woman who has decided to have an abortion while her husband disagrees.<\/p>\n
Banafsheh Riazi, Leila Hassanzadeh, Soudabeh Bahraminejad, and Parisa Asgari are in the cast.<\/p>\n
The film had its world premiere at the Wide Angle – Asian Short Film Competition section of the 28th Busan International Film Festival, in South Korea in October and won the Sonje Award, given to the best Korean and Asian short film.<\/p>\n
Nasrin Mohammadpour, 34, is a filmmaker and social activist. Her debut short film \u201cLeft Hand\u201d (2020) won the BNP award at the Seoul International Women\u2019s Film Festival. \u201c21 Weeks Later\u201d is her second short film.<\/p>\n
La Mirada Tab\u00fa aims to motivate artists and creators to show their view of the \u201ctaboo\u201d concept, which is broad and diverse and encompasses dreams, the unconscious, the mental worlds and the ghosts that populate them, the mystery, magic, even the untold reality, the unsaid, \u201cclothes on the line,\u201d in the workplace, emotional, family, vital… from a vision as polyhedral as human thought: carefree, humorous, dramatic, dreamlike\u2026 always respecting all ways of thinking and creativity.<\/p>\n
