TEHRAN \u2013 Senior commanders of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), led by Major General Hossein Salami, renewed their pledge to the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, during a ceremony at his mausoleum in Tehran on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The event marking the 46th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, underscored Iran\u2019s enduring commitment to its revolutionary principles.<\/p>\n
In an address, General Salami hailed the Islamic Republic\u2019s founder\u2019s post-revolutionary legacy, stating, \u201cImam Khomeini established sovereignty, built power, and in his first act, defeated the greatest empire in human history\u2014the U.S.\u201d<\/p>\n
The IRGC Chief emphasized that the path charted by Imam Khomeini continues under the leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, whom he described as the \u201ctruthful successor\u201d embodying the late leader\u2019s vision.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the same steadfast heart, he stands firm in every battlefield,\u201d Salami added, describing Iran\u2019s leadership as unyielding in the face of external pressures.<\/p>\n
The IRGC chief also highlighted the assertiveness of Iran\u2019s armed forces, particularly referencing last year\u2019s Operations True Promise I and II\u2014a series of strikes successfully targeting the Israeli regime’s positions\u2014as evidence of Tehran\u2019s strategic resolve.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe struck the political heart of major powers: Israel, the eldest child of America. They tried to protect it, but we acted with rationality and wisdom,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n
Salami said Western threats at the time were \u201creal\u201d and not \u201cmerely psychological\u201d, which stood in contract to Iran\u2019s \u201ccalibrated and deliberate\u201d actions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Echoing Salami\u2019s sentiments, Ayatollah Khomeini\u2019s grandson, Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, praised the IRGC\u2019s role in safeguarding Iran\u2019s sovereignty.<\/p>\n
He lauded Operation True Promise II as \u201ca historic achievement exemplifying capability fused with determination,\u201d and warned that without self-reliance, Iran risks being trampled by foreign powers.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we lack strength, we will remain under the hooves of empires\u2014or the tread of their tanks,\u201d he declared, linking the IRGC\u2019s founding to Imam Khomeini\u2019s infusion of \u201ccourage into the Iranian people\u2019s spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
