There is the United States and its vassal, the European Union.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also called Vance\u2019s diatribe against European leaders \u201cunacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking Friday at a separate event, Pistorius said he could not begin his address the way he originally intended to. \u201cIf I understood him (Vance) correctly, he compared conditions in parts of Europe with those in authoritarian regimes\u2026 That is unacceptable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI strongly oppose the impression that Vice President Vance has created that minorities are being suppressed or silenced in our democracy,\u201d Pistorius added.<\/p>\n<p>Pistorius, who has been campaigning for Germany\u2019s Social Democratic Party (SPD) ahead of the country\u2019s federal election on February 23, said German democracy allows for a plurality of views, meaning the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) can campaign \u201cjust like any other party.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tehrantimes.com\/news\/509769\/Officials-react-to-Vance-s-accusation-European-leaders-repress\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>European officials criticized US Vice President JD Vance\u2019s speech on Friday, where he\u00a0came out swinging\u00a0against European allies for suppressing free speech, losing control of immigration, and refusing to work with hard-right parties in government, CNN reported.
