Referring to the US government\u2019s \u201cinappropriate” treatment of immigrants, Baghaei stressed the importance of adhering to international norms, describing the “inhumane actions” of the US government against Iranian nationals as \u201cunacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in line with its legal obligations, will take all necessary measures to protect the rights of Iranian citizens abroad, PressTV reported.<\/p>\n
He also noted that instructions have been issued to Iran\u2019s Interests Protection Office in Washington, D.C., as well as to diplomatic and consular missions across South America, to provide assistance to Iranian nationals deported from the US.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIran is the homeland of all Iranians, and our compatriots can freely return to their homeland,\u201d Baghaei stated, reiterating the Foreign Ministry\u2019s readiness to facilitate their return and resolve related issues.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The remarks come as the first flight carrying migrants from Iran, Afghanistan, China, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam arrived in Panama on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During a weekly press conference on Thursday, Panamanian President Jos\u00e9 Ra\u00fal Mulino confirmed the arrival of 119 individuals from various nationalities. \u201cYesterday a flight from the United States Air Force arrived with 119 people from diverse nationalities of the world,\u201d Mulino said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
