TEHRAN \u2013 Iran\u2019s Special Envoy for Syria Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani confirmed that Tehran has established \u201cindirect channels of communication\u201d with Syria\u2019s de facto rulers, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), following the group\u2019s consolidation of power in Damascus.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Iranian national television in Moscow, Sheibani emphasized Iran\u2019s \u201cforward-looking approach\u201d to Syrian affairs, underscoring the Islamic Republic\u2019s commitment to \u201crestoring stability and unity\u201d in the war-torn nation. \u00a0<\/p>\n
His remarks follow statements by Syria\u2019s acting Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani, who acknowledged the exchange of \u201cpositive messages\u201d between Tehran and Damascus.<\/p>\n
The special envoy stressed that Tehran is \u201cclosely monitoring developments\u201d and will act \u201cat the appropriate time\u201d to ensure Syria\u2019s sovereignty remains intact. \u00a0<\/p>\n
