After his meeting with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani, the Iranian diplomat stated, \u201cWe held warm and good discussions,\u201d emphasizing the \u201cmany shared values that connect\u201d Iran and the Kurdistan Region, local media Rudaw TV English website reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On his part, Barzani described Iran as \u201can important ally\u201d and emphasized the \u201chistoric relations\u201d between Erbil and Tehran that \u201cwere established on the principles of good neighborliness and joint interests.\u201d He added that having strong relations with Iran is \u201cnecessary and important for strengthening regional stability.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barzani additionally underscored the Kurdistan Region\u2019s commitment to fostering regional peace and stability asserting that it \u201cwill not become a source of threat to its neighbours,\u201d particularly Iran.<\/p>\n

Takht Ravanchi also met with the Kurdistan Regional Government\u2019s (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, discussing regional developments and ways to enhance economic and trade relations between Erbil and Tehran, stated Barzani on X. \u201cWe underlined the importance of strong bilateral relations, economic reform, and trade cooperation to drive mutual prosperity,\u201d Barzani added.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Takht Ravanchi held a meeting with Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Masoud Barzani.<\/p>\n
