In a radio interview with Fox News, US President Donald Trump has said his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky has \u201cno cards\u201d to play to end the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Keith Kellogg, the US special envoy to Ukraine and Russia, nevertheless has praised Zelensky as a \u201cembattled and courageous leader of a nation at war\u201d, offering a stark departure from Trump\u2019s harsh rhetoric.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in a social media post, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said he had spoken with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about a \u201cresults-oriented\u201d dialogue between the two countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cI spoke with Secretary Rubio to continue the results-oriented Ukraine-US dialogue,\u201d Sybiha wrote on social media platform X.<\/p>\n
\u201cAhead of the third anniversary of Russia\u2019s full-scale aggression, I underscored Ukraine\u2019s strong will to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace \u2013 one that will strengthen Ukraine and the US.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump teases natural resources deal with Ukraine<\/strong><\/p>\n Also responding to questions in the Oval Office, Trump told reporters that he was optimistic a deal with Ukraine over rare earth minerals was on the horizon.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re signing an agreement, hopefully in the next fairly short period of time,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n Media reports emerged earlier this month that Trump\u2019s team sought 50-percent ownership over Ukraine\u2019s rare earth minerals, in exchange for assistance against Russia\u2019s invasion.<\/p>\n While that proposal was shot down, Trump officials have continued to maintain pressure on the Ukrainian government to make a deal premised on access to the country\u2019s mineral resources.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
