TEHRAN \u2013 Iran\u2019s parliamentary and diplomatic leadership concluded a landmark visit to Beirut last week, reinforcing Tehran\u2019s unshakable alliance with Hezbollah and vowing to sustain the Resistance Front against Israeli occupation and Western interference.<\/p>\n
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi\u2019s high-stakes meeting with Hezbollah Chief Sheikh Naim Qassem held against a backdrop of heightened regional tensions, underscored Iran\u2019s commitment to Lebanon\u2019s sovereignty and its strategic partnership with the Resistance. \u00a0<\/p>\n
This followed their participation in the delayed funeral of Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and his deputy, Sayyed Hashim Safieddine, who were assassinated in the Israeli regime\u2019s airstrikes in late 2024.<\/p>\n
Over one million mourners flooded Beirut\u2019s streets on February 23, 2025\u2014a turnout Qalibaf hailed as \u201cmassive and historic, proving that Resistance is an indestructible ideology.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n
The Iranian delegation also met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, urging national unity between Lebanon\u2019s government, parliament, and Resistance factions. \u201cHezbollah\u2019s strength is Lebanon\u2019s strength,\u201d Qalibaf asserted, echoing Tehran\u2019s longstanding view.<\/p>\n
Foreign Minister Araghchi added that Iran would \u201cspare no effort\u201d to support Lebanon\u2019s stability, linking its recovery to the broader struggle against \u201cforeign occupation and economic coercion.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n
Speaking to Iran\u2019s Parliament, Qalibaf described Hezbollah as \u201cLebanon\u2019s national strength\u201d and a \u201cguarantor of its security,\u201d condemning Israel\u2019s \u201cstate terrorism\u201d and asserting that \u201cno assassination can erase the will of a people fighting tyranny.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
