harmful to regional stability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en.hamsonews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/5406486.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"item-text\">\n<p class=\"summary\">TEHRAN \u2013 Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, addressed relations with Turkey, U.S. policy shifts, and the Israeli regime\u2019s occupation of Palestinian territories during a press conference on Monday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">In important remarks, Baqaei acknowledged Iran\u2019s \u201crational approach\u201d to managing diplomatic friction with Turkey, despite Ankara\u2019s recent criticism of Tehran\u2019s regional policies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u201cWhile Tehran and Ankara hold differing views on certain regional issues, we have successfully managed differences through dialogue to prevent damage to bilateral ties,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">However, he cautioned that \u201cunconstructive rhetoric\u201d from Turkish officials, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, required Iran to assert its stance \u201cclearly and decisively.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Highlighting Israel\u2019s escalating military actions in Syria as a destabilizing factor, Baqaei urged Turkey to reassess its regional calculus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u201cIran remains determined to enhance security through collaboration with neighbors, including Turkey, to eliminate conflict without reliance on external powers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The spokesman&#8217;s remarks come in the wake of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan&#8217;s recent Al Jazeera interview, where he appeared to blame Iran for supporting former President Bashar al-Assad in his efforts to combat the terrorists that Ankara has long been suspected of funding.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">&#8220;If this is Iran&#8217;s policy in Syria, I do not think it is the correct one,&#8221; Fidan declared, before leveling accusations of &#8220;instability&#8221; against Iran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">He added that if Tehran seeks to protect its own &#8220;glass house&#8221; from shattering, it should think twice before &#8220;throwing stones at others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">His remarks instigated reactions from various figures in Iran, such as Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the Iranian Parliament&#8217;s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, who stated that Iran would not passively await a &#8220;stone to hit its window,&#8221; but would instead dismantle &#8220;the house&#8221; of the aggressor.<br \/> <strong>Hezbollah: Lebanon\u2019s \u2018inseparable pillar\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Furthermore, Baqaei reiterated Iran\u2019s unwavering support for Lebanon\u2019s Hezbollah, calling the Resistance group \u201can inseparable pillar of Lebanon\u2019s governance and stability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u201cThe Resistance Axis is not merely a strategic choice but a moral duty,\u201d Baqaei asserted, describing Hezbollah as a bulwark against Israeli aggression.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">He emphasized that Tehran\u2019s relationship with Beirut is rooted in \u201cmutual respect and shared resistance against occupation,\u201d citing productive discussions during a February 23 Iranian delegation visit to Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The delegation attended the funeral of Hezbollah leaders Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine, assassinated by Israeli regime\u2019s airstrikes in 2024, and also met with Lebanese leaders, including Hezbollah chief Sheikh Naim Qassem and President Joseph Aoun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong>U.S. \u2018coercive tactics\u2019 in Ukraine\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Baqaei also condemned U.S. President Donald Trump\u2019s presumed pressure on Ukraine\u2019s President Volodymyr Zelensky to concede territory to Russia, calling it a \u201cwake-up call for nations still clinging to 19th-century power politics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">He criticized Washington\u2019s unilateralism, including its sanctions on firms trading with Iran, and rejected foreign interference as a path to stability.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u201cThe two World Wars taught humanity that international relations must be governed by law, not brute force,\u201d Baqaei said, advocating for \u201cendogenous security\u201d rooted in regional self-reliance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">During Friday\u2019s fiery exchange in the White House, Trump and his Vice President JD Vance told their guest Zelensky that he had \u201cno cards\u201d and was in no position to make requests of the U.S., accusing the Ukrainian president of not being thankful enough for U.S. military and political support during Ukraine\u2019s war with Russia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong>U.S. attempting to \u2018legitimize Israeli apartheid\u2019 in West Bank<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Baqaei denounced a U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee directive to rename the occupied West Bank as \u201cJudea and Samaria,\u201d calling it a \u201cdesperate attempt to whitewash apartheid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u201cChanging names cannot alter the reality of occupation,\u201d he declared. \u201cThe West Bank and Gaza are indivisible parts of historical Palestine, and no coercion can erase Palestinian rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">He said Washington has been complicit in \u201cgenocide against the Palestinian nation,\u201d reaffirming Iran\u2019s constitutional mandate to support \u201cresistance against oppression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Rep. Brian Mast, who openly wears his Israeli military uniform to Congress and has been heavily supported by the Israel lobby, recently instructed committee staff to refer to the occupied West Bank by \u201cJudea and Samaria,\u201d according to Axios.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Occupied by Israel since 1967, the West Bank is internationally recognized as Palestinian territory.
