Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced the proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza on Sunday, according to Israeli media.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe proposed a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip for two days to exchange four (Israeli) prisoners for some (Palestinian) prisoners, and then negotiations would take place over 10 days to turn the cease-fire into a permanent truce,\u201d al-Sisi said during a joint press conference with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in the capital Cairo.<\/p>\n
Israel waged its brutal war on besieged Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out an unprecedented operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.<\/p>\n
