Alarmed by the autocrat\u2019s popularity, the educated \u00e9lite conspires to bring him down. After his assassination, civil war erupts on the streets of the capital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The cast includes David Calder, Michelle Fairley, David Morrissey, Ben Whishaw, Wendy Kweh, Leaphia Darko, Fred Fergus, Kit Young, Mark Penfold, Adjoa Andoh, Nick Sampson, Leila Farzad, Hannah Stokely, Abraham Popoola, Sid Sagar, Rosie Ede, and Zachary Hart.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u201cThe Tragedy of Julius Caesar,\u201d often shortened to \u201cJulius Caesar,\u201d is a historical tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written and first performed in 1599. The play portrays the political conspiracy that led to the assassination of the Roman dictator Julius Caesar and Rome&#8217;s subsequent civil war.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Although named after Caesar, the play focuses largely on Brutus, whose moral and political dilemmas have often led critics to regard him as its tragic hero. Central themes include the tension between personal loyalty and public duty, the use of rhetoric in politics, and the fragility of republican governance in the face of ambition and power.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u201cJulius Caesar\u201d has been adapted in numerous forms and interpreted in diverse political contexts, reflecting concerns from Elizabethan debates on succession to modern discussions of dictatorship and democracy.
