TEHRAN \u2014 Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf declared Saturday that Israel and the United States suffered a \u201cmore humiliating defeat\u201d in their recent attempt to ignite terrorist riots across Iran than during the failed 12-day aggression of 2025.<\/p>\n
Addressing the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) personnel at the parliament, Qalibaf\u2014who himself served as the commander of the IRGC Air Force [now Aerospace Force] for three years\u2014lauded the rapid neutralization of a foreign-orchestrated campaign \u201cin less than 48 hours.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said that Israel attempted to execute coordinated terrorist strikes across multiple cities\u2014reminiscent of the sabotage seen in the Lebanon pager explosions\u2014but was thwarted by the vigilance of Iranian security forces and \u201cdivine victory.\u201d<\/p>\n
Qalibaf described the recent unrest as \u201cISIS-style\u201d terrorism, characterized by brutal crimes where defenders of the state were martyred, burned alive, or beheaded by \u201cstateless and irreligious\u201d proxies trained by Tel Aviv and Washington.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must kiss the hands of every IRGC member, Basiji [a volunteer security force as part of the IRGC], and police officer who stood firm,\u201d Qalibaf stated, honoring those who remained \u201coppressed yet courageous\u201d in the face of extremist violence.<\/p>\n
Providing historical context, the speaker emphasized that the IRGC is fundamentally a \u201csocial institution\u201d born from the heart of the Iranian people in 1979.<\/p>\n
Quoting the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, who said, \u201cIf the IRGC did not exist, the country would not exist,\u201d\u2014Qalibaf argued that the force remains the primary guardian of Iran\u2019s national identity, dignity, and independence.<\/p>\n
He noted that the IRGC acts as a \u201cshield for the people\u201d during floods, earthquakes, and military threats alike.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Qalibaf highlighted the IRGC\u2019s role within the Axis of Resistance, noting that martyr Qassem Soleimani sacrificed for both Shias and Sunnis without distinction, from Iraq to Palestine and Yemen.<\/p>\n
This non-sectarian mission, he concluded, is a testament to the IRGC\u2019s commitment to defending the oppressed against the \u201cfalse polarizations\u201d created by global arrogance. The failed riots, he asserted, represent yet another collapse of Western hybrid warfare against the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
