TEHRAN -The commander of the Iranian Army says the claim by the enemies that they are invincible is a lie, especially as they have suffered defeat multiple times.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey claim to be invincible, but the claim is a lie and is worthless,\u201d said Major General Amir Hatami at a graduation ceremony of Army university students.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe remember that last month, the enemy made efforts to seriously deal a blow to the great Iranian nation, our dear country and the Islamic Republic of Iran\u2019s establishment, but each time it was defeated,\u201d the top general noted.<\/p>\n
In late December, 2025, the enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran provoked riots in the country through their trained operatives and mercenaries. The armed rioters vandalized public property, triggered terror, and killed about 200 security forces as well as hundreds of ordinary citizens by hijacking peaceful protests by a group of business owners, who were complaining about economic instability and depreciation of the national currency that had resulted from the U.S.-led economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n
To tackle the unrest, Iranian security forces immediately went into action and firmly dealt with rioters and foreign-backed insurgents, making numerous arrests.<\/p>\n
Security forces also seized various types of lethal weapons intended for use against civilians and government facilities.<\/p>\n
The operatives had been tasked by foreign spy agencies and hostile groups to carry out targeted assassinations of elite figures, stir ethnic divisions, and sabotage vital infrastructure such as water, electricity, gas, and oil pipelines.<\/p>\n
Many analysts as well as Iranian authorities are of the conviction that the terrorist acts and riots were, in fact, the continuation of the 12-day U.S.-Israeli war against Iran back in June 2025.<\/p>\n
Major General Hatami described the riots as a \u201cquasi-coup\u201d attempt by the enemy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith its miscalculations, the enemy implemented its scheme in late December, but it was defeated at the end,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added that any further enemy plots will be met with a decisive and crushing response, too.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere in his remarks, General Hatami said, \u201cThis is the same enemy that fought 20 years ago in Vietnam and Afghanistan and finally left in disgrace; in Iraq and other countries the same thing happened to them (the enemies).\u201d<\/p>\n
He further said war today is, by far, more complicated and difficult than in the past.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are facing a hybrid war on political, economic, social, military, psychological and cognitive fronts, so much so that besides us, our families and children are exposed to this war, too,\u201d<\/p>\n
He said it is necessary to get to know the enemy in order to be able to tackle the hybrid war it has launched.<\/p>\n
He also urged \u201cresistance\u201d against the enemy and its demands.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
