We will resume soon after consultation in the respective capitals. Discussions on a technical level will take place next week in Vienna. I am grateful to all concerned for their efforts: the negotiators, the IAEA, and our hosts the Swiss government,&#8221; Badr Albusaidi, who has been mediating the talks between Iran and the U.S., wrote on X.<\/p>\n<p>Raphael Grossi, the chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency, participated in the negotiations on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Abbas Araghchi, Iran\u2019s foreign minister and chief negotiator, also said \u201cgood progress\u201d was made in the Geneva talks,\u00a0adding, &#8220;We seriously entered the components of a deal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He also called this round of talks, the third of its kind since early February, the \u201cmost serious and longest\u201d one. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Araghchi also said the technical talks will start on Monday.\u00a0The foreign minister added Grossi&#8217;s participation in the talks was helpful in terms of technical issues.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The chief diplomat said the Iranian and U.S. negotiators had common understandings on certain issues, but differences on some others still remain.<\/p>\n<p>He added, &#8220;Consultations should be made in the capitals, and after that we will have the fourth round of talks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Noting that the negotiating sides showed more seriousness this time, he said the Iranian side unequivocally insisted on Tehran&#8217;s demands for the lifting of sanctions on the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n<p>Before the announcements by the Iranian and Omani foreign ministers,\u00a0former U.S. nuclear negotiator Robert Malley said a nuclear deal with Iran is achievable if the Trump administration is really seeking a deal more stringent than the JCPOA (the 2015 nuclear deal), which was ditched by Donald Trump during his first presidency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the Trump administration\u2019s objective in the negotiations is a nuclear deal that is objectively more constraining than the JCPOA, they can achieve it,\u201d he wrote on social media. However, he warned, \u201cIf it\u2019s something entirely different, they won\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Malley was the U.S. chief nuclear negotiator with Iran during President Joe Biden.
