TEHRAN- A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Iran\u2019s enemies made a strategic miscalculation in assessing the country\u2019s capabilities and resolve, arguing that Tehran has emerged in a stronger position while the United States faces decline and failure.<\/p>\n
Speaking to IRNA on Saturday night, IRGC deputy chief for political affairs Yadollah Javani said the enemies had wrongly assumed they could achieve a swift victory by imposing war on the Iranian nation.<\/p>\n
The US-Israeli aggression against Iran began on February 28 with airstrikes that assassinated senior Iranian officials and commanders, including the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.<\/p>\n
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces launched daily missile and drone operations targeting targets in the Israeli-occupied territories, as well as US military bases and assets across the region.<\/p>\n
The enemies\u2019 strategic objectives, Javani said, included destroying Iran\u2019s nuclear capabilities, eliminating its missile defense capacity, and ultimately overthrowing the Islamic Republic. He stated that those objectives had failed, resulting in a shift in regional dynamics in Iran\u2019s favor.<\/p>\n
Referring to developments in the region, he said Iran now holds a dominant position over the Strait of Hormuz and has attained a status that is \u201cthe legitimate right of the Iranian people\u201d after 500 years.<\/p>\n
Iran currently occupies \u201ca victorious and superior position\u201d and has already announced its conditions for ending the current situation, he said, adding, \u201cNow it is America\u2019s turn to make a decision.\u201d<\/p>\n
Addressing US President Donald Trump, the IRGC commander argued that Washington faces two options: \u201cthe bad way\u201d and \u201cthe worse way.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0He said the United States must choose between accepting the conditions and rights of the Iranian people or continuing the war.<\/p>\n
Javani also warned against another enemy miscalculation, saying Iran\u2019s Armed Forces remain fully prepared.<\/p>\n
If a new mistake is made, he said, the Islamic Republic\u2019s response would be \u201cstronger, more decisive, and more unbelievable\u201d than before.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
