TEHRAN \u2013 The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Thursday summoned the German charge affairs over Germany\u2019s move in denying consular services to Iranian citizens living in the Western European country, calling the move \u201cunacceptable and unjustifiable\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe decision of the federal German government in halting the works of Iran\u2019s consulates in the country is unacceptable and unjustifiable,\u201d the Foreign Ministry said.<\/p>\n

The chief activities of Iran\u2019s consulates in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich are to provide consular services to Iranians residing in Germany and defending their interests in the host country, but the decision of the German government to close these diplomatic centers is \u201cintentionally\u201d intended to deprive Iranians from consular services, the Foreign Ministry stated.<\/p>\n

The ministry added this move cuts the most important and oldest links between the Iranian and German nations.<\/p>\n

It also said the statement by the German Foreign Ministry in this regard is \u201cinjudicious, meddlesome, unprofessional and tactless that lacks any legal basis or value.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Iranian Foreign Ministry also said, \u201cThis unconstructive and confrontational approach of Germany is a great indiscreet mistake, and the German government will be responsible for its consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
