TEHRAN \u2013 The Iranian ambassador to Oman convened with Iranian Army officers aboard the Jamaran destroyer, docked at Sultan Qaboos Port, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
In a post on X, Moussa Farhang shared: \u201cThe visit to the Jamaran destroyer, stationed at Sultan Qaboos port, and the conversations held with the commanders and officers of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s formidable Army on board were successful.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThis all-Iranian destroyer stands as a point of pride for all of us. We sincerely appreciate the tireless efforts of the ship’s crew, who have spent several months away from their families and homeland,\u201d the ambassador concluded.<\/p>\n
The Jamaran destroyer is an Iranian light frigate that was launched in 2010. It is the first vessel in the Moudge-class series produced domestically. The Jamaran has a displacement of approximately 1,500 tons, spans 94 meters in length, and has an 11-meter beam.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This destroyer is outfitted with sophisticated military capabilities, including the capacity to deploy helicopters, anti-ship and surface-to-air missiles, torpedoes, and contemporary artillery, along with air defense systems. Additionally, it incorporates electronic warfare technology and a stealth feature.<\/p>\n
Sultan Qaboos Port, also known as Port Sultan Qaboos (PSQ), is a significant seaport located in Muscat, the capital city of Oman. It was developed in the 1970s under the vision of Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, who aimed to create a modern and efficient maritime hub to support Oman’s economic growth.
