TEHRAN – Lebanon\u2019s Hezbollah resistance movement has thrown a spotlight on the failure of Israel\u2019s ground offensive in the Mediterranean country.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter 45 days of bloody fighting, the enemy is still unable to occupy a single Lebanese village,\u201d Hezbollah\u00a0media chief\u00a0Mohammad Afif\u00a0said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was speaking at a press conference in the Dahiyeh neighborhood in the south of the capital Beirut on Monday.<\/p>\n
He dismissed Israel\u2019s claims about the depletion of Hezbollah\u2019s missile stockpiles.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur missile stockpiles are complete in the same way that they were on the first day [of the struggle against the Israeli regime],\u201d Afif said as he referred to Hezbollah\u2019s continued firing of projectiles towards Tel Aviv and Haifa.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Israel launched a massive bombing campaign in Lebanon on September 23 which was followed by a ground invasion of the country\u2019s south on October 1.<\/p>\n
Hezbollah and Israel began trading fire a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war on Gaza on October 7, 2023. Netanyahu issued the order after Hamas conducted Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise military attack in southern Israel which dealt a severe blow to the occupation regime.<\/p>\n
Nearly 3,200 people have been killed and more than 14,000 others wounded in Israeli attacks in Lebanon since October last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hezbollah has retaliated by firing missiles and drones toward Israel\u2019s strategic and military positions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hezbollah fighters have also killed dozens of Israeli troops inside Israel and on the battlefield in southern Lebanon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
