BEIRUT – The Hebrew Channel 12 revealed that the Israeli occupation entity is studying the possibility of a ceasefire with Lebanon \u201cto avoid any UN Security Council resolution against it,\u201d saying that the Joe Biden administration is exerting intense pressure on \u201cIsrael\u201d to end the fighting on the northern front.<\/p>\n
The Israelis claim that the goal of its aggression is to allow tens of thousands of colonial settlers to return after they were forced to leave the northern region due to the Hezbollah fire more than a year ago. Now, Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi claimed that it is now possible to end it after allegedly eliminating Hezbollah\u2019s senior leaders.<\/p>\n
\u201cIsrael Today\u201d quoted a Zionist political official stating that there is tangible progress in the talks regarding the northern front, which meets \u201cIsrael\u2019s\u201d interests. In turn, Channel 13 stated that estimates indicate that more than 90% of the army\u2019s ground operations in Lebanon have ended.<\/p>\n
The Israel Broadcasting Authority further quoted informed sources in the army as saying that the ground operation’s most notable \u201cachievements\u201d are destroying Hezbollah\u2019s infrastructure and weapons caches, and the capture of some fighters who \u201cprovided them with intelligence information.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Hebrew outlet added that thousands of regular and reserve forces will be granted temporary leave of absence, coinciding with the redeployment of forces along the Lebanese border.<\/p>\n
Israeli reserve soldiers admitted to The Wall Street Journal that Hezbollah\u2019s tactics are similar to Hamas\u2019s in the Gaza Strip, but the fighting in Lebanon is more difficult.<\/p>\n
In the besieged Gaza, the resistance has been subjected to extensive monitoring and surveillance by the Israeli security and military services. In terms of geography, the Lebanese terrain is highly helpful in fighting, unlike Gaza, where the terrain is relatively flat and devoid of trees and forests.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Following the July 2006 war, Hezbollah prepared the ground extensively expecting an inevitable confrontation. Besides, Hezbollah has accumulated experience in Syria, and possesses ballistic and strategic missiles. It also can manufacture and launch drones.<\/p>\n
After roughly 2 months, the divisions – mainly 164, 36, 91, 98 and 210 – have failed to expel Hezbollah’s Radwan Division from the border. For this reason, it systematically attacks Lebanon’s infrastructure to claim that it has achieved an imaginary victory.<\/p>\n
Currently, the main axis in the confrontations between Hezbollah and the occupation army is in the areas of Mays al-Jabal, Aitaroun, Kfar Kila, Taybeh, Khiyam, and Bint Jbeil.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hezbollah announced that it had carried out several attacks on the occupation regime\u2019s sites and launched an attack with suicide drones on a military gathering in Maroun al-Ras.<\/p>\n
Following the outbreak of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Hezbollah launched barrages of missiles, drones, and artillery shells targeting Israeli military sites in central Galilee, Haifa, and other areas in the center of the occupied Palestinian territories, reaching the vicinity of Ben Gurion Airport.<\/p>\n
In October 2024, the Israeli enemy announced a ground operation in southern Lebanon with the aim of \u201cdismantling Hezbollah\u2019s military infrastructure\u201d as part of a broader operation on September 23 called \u201cNorthern Arrows\u201d. Since October last year, it has resulted in more than 3,000 martyrs and over 13,000 wounded, including a large number of women and children, with the displacement of about 1.4 million citizens.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
