TEHRAN \u2013 As announced by a provincial official, the value of non-oil export from Semnan province rose 63 percent during the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-October 21), as compared to the same period of time in the past year.<\/p>\n
Morteza Hajian-Nejad, the director-general of Semnan province\u2019s Customs Department, said that 245,000 tons of commodities worth over $134 million were exported from the province in the seven-month period, indicating also 26 percent rise in terms of weight year on year.<\/p>\n
He mentioned Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia, Pakistan, and Turkey as the main export destinations of the products exported from the province in the said time span.<\/p>\n
Semnan province\u00a0is one of the 31\u00a0Provinces\u00a0of\u00a0Iran. It is in the north of the country. Its capital is the city of\u00a0Semnan.<\/p>\n
The province of Semnan covers an area of 96,816 square kilometers and stretches along the\u00a0Alborz\u00a0mountain range, bordering desert in its southern parts.<\/p>\n
The province is divided into two parts: a mountainous region and the plains at the foot of the mountains.<\/p>\n
The province neighbors\u00a0Golestan\u00a0and\u00a0Mazandaran\u00a0Provinces to the north,\u00a0North Khorasan Province\u00a0to the northeast,\u00a0Tehran\u00a0and\u00a0Qom\u00a0Provinces to the west,\u00a0Isfahan Province\u00a0to the south,\u00a0South Khorasan Province\u00a0to the southeast, and\u00a0Khorasan Razavi Province\u00a0to the east.<\/p>\n
As previously announced by the former head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the value of Iran\u2019s foreign trade reached $99.7 billion during the first seven months of the present Iranian year.<\/p>\n
Mohammad Rezvanifar said that of the mentioned figure, $60.2 billion was the value of the country\u2019s export, and $39.5 billion was the worth of the import.<\/p>\n
He put the value of non-oil export at $32.5 billion, the oil export at $27 billion, and technical-engineering export at $700 million in the seven-month period.<\/p>\n
Saying that the value of the country\u2019s non-oil export rose 15 percent in the first seven months of this year, as compared to the same period of time in the past year, the official put the weight of non-oil export at 88.7 million tons in the mentioned seven-month, with 11.48 percent growth, year on year.<\/p>\n
He further put the weight of the seven-month import at 21.7 million tons.<\/p>\n
According to Rezvanifar, the average value of each ton of exported goods has increased by three percent to $367 and the average worth of each ton of imported products has risen six percent to $1,819 in the first seven months of this year, as compared to the same time span of the past year.<\/p>\n
