Rights groups challenging the\u00a0UK\u00a0government over weapons sales to\u00a0Israel\u00a0say they are seeking a court order to halt all\u00a0arms exports after\u00a0the\u00a0International Criminal Court\u00a0(ICC)\u00a0issued\u00a0arrest warrants\u00a0for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former war minister Yoav Gallant.<\/p>\n

The Palestinian human rights organization\u00a0Al-Haq\u00a0and the UK-based Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) warned the British government that it is “now arming suspected war criminals who have been indicted by the world\u2019s pre-eminent criminal court”, Middle East Eye reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The groups highlighted that the\u00a0ICC’s\u00a0three-judge pre-trial panel\u00a0found\u00a0that there were reasonable grounds to believe that, amongst other alleged crimes, both men intentionally starved civilians in Gaza for at least eight months.<\/p>\n

They also pointed to findings that the leaders had intentionally limited or prevented medical supplies from getting into the Gaza Strip, forcing doctors to operate and carry out amputations, including on children, without anesthetics.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
